Most international flights the traveller will need a purchased business class ticket in order to upgrade to first class. If you have booked an economy flight, you’ll be eligible to a business class upgrade.

Unfortunately, Qatar Airways flights can’t be upgraded using Qantas Frequent Flyer points, however, you can use ‘Qmiles’ from Qatar Airways’ own Privilege Club loyalty program.
