Barbara Whitten – AT Managing Director, recently joined Silversea Cruises on a short ‘taster’ sailing.
I was lucky enough to enjoy a short trip on the Silver Muse sailing from Sydney to Melbourne last December. It has been a while since I sailed on a luxury cruise line and it has certainly rekindled my love of cruising. The Silver Muse first set sail in 2017, Silversea Cruises newest flagship, an ‘ultra-luxury Ship’ and she did not disappoint!
What was so great? I loved the choice of eight restaurants – from the hot rocks at The Grill where we cooked an amazing cut of fillet, to the Asian infused restaurant of Indochine. Atlantide is available for all day dining or try the relaxed atmosphere of La Terazza with alfresco seating. Unfortunately, I didn’t have time to sample all, in particular the French restaurant La Dame, but I did hear some excellent feedback.
The Muse is an all-Suite ship and we had a Deluxe Veranda suite was contemporary, spacious with a separate living area, a large bathroom – Bulgari amenities – and of course the spectacular views from the private veranda …and then of course you have your own Butler, what else do you need? Oh yes, a fully stocked mini bar filled with our preferences…
Over a leisurely poolside lunch, I got very excited while researching some of the itineraries for 2020/2021, with the Silversea Sales Team confirming the promoted ‘early booking bonuses’ are the best pricing on offer!
Silversea Cruises provides guests a refined and yet quietly elegant club appeal. There is something uniquely satisfying about a smaller ship. The intimacy. The friendly camaraderie.
Where am I cruising next? I am very excited to try one of the new expedition cruises, definitely setting a new standard in luxury expedition cruising – but I think Japan in blossom season will be my next Silversea experience!
