This is a reminder that from Tuesday March 15th 2016, all Australians travelling to or transiting through Canada will need to obtain an electronic travel authorisation (eTA).
For more information on how to apply for an eTA, please visit www.cic.gc.ca.
As with all visa, and visa waiver programs, it is the responsibility of the traveller to ensure they receive the necessary authorisation for travel prior to departure. Failure to comply may result in denied boarding.
Passengers travelling on a passport other than an Australian passport and passengers with special visa requirements should check immigration requirements with the Canadian High Commission or Consulate. Visa and other entry and exit conditions can change at short notice.
LAND & SEA entries do not require the eTA
The Consulate has announced on 10th March 2016 that visa fees have change dramatically effective immediately.
BUSINESS – $144.00
During the OLYMPIC PERIOD a TOURIST VISA ONLY will NOT need to apply for a visa for Brazil between 1st June to 18th September 2016 – they will be issued on arrival.
A BUSINESS DOUBLE entry visa can now only be obtained if the traveller has already had a previous SINGLE entry visa to Mongolia.
Following the restrictions/cancellations on the ESTA’s already issued that were imposed last month for DUAL nationals of IRAN, IRAQ, SYRIA & SUDAN or any Australians who have travelled to those countries since 1st March 2011, the U.S. has now also added any Australians who have travelled to Libya, Somalia & Yemen from 1st March 2011.
